Delux. Granny Square

I like the make up of the delux granny square but it can lead to lots of tails in need of sewing in once completed. 

To get started

Round one


1. Using yarn A make your slip knot and chain six
2. and join using a slip stitch to form a ring
3. chain 3 (this makes the last of your trebles when you complete the round) make 2 more trebles chain 3, work a further treble 3 chain,  three more times and join to to the lst treble of your first treble stitch by slip stitch in the 3rd chain of this stitch as pointed out in the picture 3.
4. you have now completed your first round. Break off your yarn.A.

Round Two

5. Join yarn B in any of the chain 3 spaces. *Double crochet x 1, chain 3, double crochet 1 chain 3 repeat     from * until you have completed the round by joining  by slip stitch to the 1st chain at the end of the     round.. Break off yarn B    
    

Round Three


6. Join yarn C in any of the 3 chain corner spaces. *Treble 3 chain 3 treble 3 (to make your corner) treble 3 in the next 3 chain space. Repeat from * until the round is completed. Break off Yarn C

Round Four


7. Join yarn B in one of 3 chain spaces. *Double crochet x 1, chain 3, double crochet x 1. Chain 3 doub crochet x 1 in the space between the next treble stitch twice and repeat from *. Continue until you have completed the round and break off yarn B.

Round 5

8. Join yarn D and complete your next round working 3 treble in each 3 chain space on the straight and 3 treble 3 chain 3 treble in each of the corners. Break off yarn D.

Round 6

Join yarn B  in one of 3 chain spaces. *Double crochet x 1, chain 3, double crochet x 1. Chain 3 double 
crochet x 1 in the space between the next treble stitch three times and repeat from *. Continue until you   have  the round and break off yarn B.

Round 7

9. Join yarn E and complete your next round working 3 treble in each 3 chain space on the straight and 3 treble 3 chain 3 treble in each of the corners. Break off yarn E.




Round 8

10. Okay almost there.  Join yarn F in any *3 chain space and double crochet x 1, chain 3, double crochet x 1** (this forms your corner) and continue to make 1 treble in each of the tops of the previous trebles and repeat from * to ** to form your corners until you get back to the first 3 chain and slip stitch to join and complete your round. 



Round 9

11. Continue in yarn F double crochet 3 to complete your corner and continue to double crochet in the tops
of the trebles from the previous row until you have completed the round and your square. Break off your
yarn

Sew in all the ends to finish off your square.  If wanting to make a blanket then you omit rounds 8 and 9 and continue in your colour combination until you have reached the size required and then complete rounds 8 and 9 to complete your blanket and then add the border of our choice.
