Short Crust Pastry

Ingredients

8oz/225g Plain Flour
4oz/115g Butter/Margarine
pinch of salt
3-4 tablespoons of cold water


  • Put the flour and salt in a bowl
  • add the butter/margarine and rub together until resembles fine breadcrumbs. 
  • add just enough water to be able to bring together into a ball but try not to over work as this will lead to it cracking when baked.
  • Wrap in cling film and store in the fridge for 30 minutes.
